In 2005, Donald Shoup published a nearly 800-page book called The High Cost of Free Parking which quickly became a “cult-classic” in urbanism, transportation, and planning circles. In 2018 he followed up by editing Parking and the City a series of case studies, stories, and learnings from around the world.
Perhaps the most significant achievement in his writings, presentations, and conversations is how he makes talking about parking policy interesting, engaging, and even humorous at times.
